It's Random. It's Questions. It's Live. What could possibly go wrong? Audiences are raving "What is this?" "Why's this on my news feed?" and "Where am I?" He's the 12th most popular Google search result for "Larry Fields". He's kind of a big deal. Random Questions with Artistic Director Larry Fields is FTF’s newest virtual program! Just as the title suggests, the show is a fun, off-the-wall take on a talk show based around a series of rapid-fire random questions. Guests are all FTF alumni—both past and present, featuring performers, directors, designers, etc.—all the kinds of people who make FTF possible. This show is our way of celebrating our great and talented artists both on stage and off—and it’s a gig in the pandemic! The Miami Book Fair is just around the corner! With multiple virtual panels by authors lined up, the fair will take place from November 15th to the 22nd. The fair will feature many authors and will allow you to watch these talented writers talk about their works. These panels, available for all ages and addressing a  wide range of topics, will surely inspire you and make your day.

'Tis the Season for festive photos! Come have a holiday photo taken at the Arsht Center's touchless photo booth. The Ziff Ballet Opera House lobby is the perfect backdrop for two beautiful photo vignettes. Your keepsake photo(s) will be delivered digitally. Bring your furry best friend for one dog-friendly* photo day on December 13.

Bring an unwrapped toy to the Arsht Center’s Toys for Tots toy box during your photo visit and help bring the joy of Christmas to less-fortunate children.

8th annual Vintage Auto Show at Deering Estate

The Deering Estate, in collaboration with the Antique Automotive Club of America – South Florida Region, will host the 8th annual Vintage Auto Show on Sunday, November 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy a relaxing day outdoors as they stroll down memory lane. Car enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy a variety of vintage cars, from 1969 and older, displayed on the historic grounds of the Deering Estate. Please note that guests must practice social distancing, wear face coverings (ages 2 and up), and are not allowed to gather in groups larger than 10 people. Sanitation stations are available throughout the event. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should remain stationary and maintain physical distancing.

Dreaming of Diwali Presented by Miami Association of Indian Americans for Culture and the Arts

MAIACA, Miami Association of Indian Americans for Culture and the Arts, will tweak tradition with this year's annual Diwali event. The festive Indian celebration will take on a new interactive form featuring three DIY demonstrations streamed on the weekend before Diwali. Each segment will spotlight local Miami talent providing tips and lessons on how to cook, prepare and decorate your home for the holiday. Viewers are encouraged to take part and follow along with the demonstrations in their homes. The Dreaming of Diwali event will be available via Zoom and Facebook Live on November 8th beginning at 6pm EST. The lineup of talent for the evening event will be as follows: First will be Chef Utpal Dighe, of Saborwala in Coral Gables, preparing two Latin/Indian fusion dishes. Chef Dighe will make his signature Samoquetas, combining samosas and croquettes along with Vegetarian Chaat Ceviche, a Peruvian ceviche dish seasoned with Chaat masala, a popular Indian spice. Next, MAIACA Board Members, Chitra Ramakrishna, Vicky Kamlani and Sunita Bharwani, will present a home decor segment. The group will demonstrate how to arrange and display traditional Diwali decorations and provide ideas for gift giving and packaging. Finally, South Florida Artist Indranil Ghosh will demonstrate how to design a rangoli using common household items. Ghosh will provide step by step instruction from template selection to detailed decorations.

Virtual Book Fair discussing National Book Award nominees Presented by Miami Book Fair

In partnership with the National Book Foundation, Miami Book Fair will be hosting a series of online book discussions for young people, creating an opportunity for dialogue between NYC and Miami students around this year’s National Book Award honorees. Each week, a moderator will facilitate open discussion among students featuring one of the ten longlisted honorees of this year’s National Book Award for Young People’s Literature.
