North Beach Social - Miami City Ballet + Han Beyli Presented by Rhythm Foundation

Enjoy a monthly magical night at the North Beach Bandshell - free in person or via live-stream. Miami City Ballet is one the most renowned ballet companies in the country. The company performs for nearly 125,000 patrons annually during its South Florida home season in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and tours to major cities domestically and internationally. This Pop-Up performance is a rare chance to see dancers this major South Florida arts organization in an intimate setting. The second half of the night features a live concert by Han Beyli. Born and raised in Ukraine and heavily influenced by his Azerbaijani heritage, bassist and composer Han Beyli builds from a tradition of traditional folk mugham form. His eclectic music seamlessly glides across world rhythms, R&B, techno and Jazz sounds, connected by intricate rhythms and beautiful improvisation. Han draws listeners and performers into an inventive and textured world of melody and harmony that leaves the audience spellbound. He has performed/toured with renowned artists such as Jack De Johnette, John Medeski, David Fiuczynski and Screaming Headless Torsos, and has performed at major festivals in Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Russia, and the US. Now based in Miami, Beyli has put together an ensemble of other top instrumentalists.

North Beach Social - Ordinary Boys Presented by Rhythm Foundation

The North Beach Social is back! The Rhythm Foundation invites the community to enjoy a monthly magical night and meet their music-loving neighbors at the North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach. The night is free, and to the public - in person or via live-stream. The Ordinary Boys were formed in 2010 by vocalist AJ Navarrete, as a tribute to the music of legendary post-punk band The Smiths. The band chose its name after the song 'The Ordinary Boys,' from Morrissey's debut album ‘Viva Hate,’ and as an homage to the concept behind 'The Smiths' name. Their debut show at the iconic Churchill’s Pub in Miami brought mad love from Smiths and Moz fans.

Beethoven in the New World featuring pianist Reed Tetzloff Presented by Kaleidoscope MusArt

Beethoven’s majestic compositional output did not only open the door to the romanticism of the 19th century, but rather, has continuously exerted its universal influence on every generation of composers to follow, leading into the present day. This program features Beethoven’s piano sonata Op. 101 – a magnificent manifestation of his trailblazing late style – and three works that pay homage to Beethoven in unique ways: the ‘Concord’ Sonata by the great American master of the 20th century, Charles Ives; Ten Bagatelles for piano by “one of our most talented and distinctive…contemporary composers” (Seen and Heard International), Jonathan Dawe; and No. V: Three Bagatelles by internationally esteemed pioneer of electroacoustic and computer music, Clarence Barlow. Brenda Alford's Birthday Celebration- Songs and The Stories Behind Them

Join us for a magical night of live music with Brenda Alford and her Quintet at the Sandrell Rivers Theater! Ms. Alford is joined in this concert by Venezuelan pianist and album producer, Antulio Mora, the renowned bassist, Paul Shewchuk, the brilliant drummer, J.D. Anderson, and the great Jesse Jones, Jr. on saxophone. The Brenda Alford Quintet will have you tapping your toes to the swinging rhythms of some of the greatest jazz standards from her mentors and idols, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, and Billie Holliday. You’ll hear the soulful jazz side of Aretha Franklin as well as some of the unique arrangements that were created by and for Brenda-- a real testament to her artistry.
