The Miami Zine Fair returns on Saturday, April 4, 2026, taking place at Paradise Plaza in Miami’s Design District.
Founded in 2015 by EXILE Projects as part of O, Miami Poetry Month, the Miami Zine Fair is a cornerstone of EXILE’s nonprofit community programming. Always free and open to the public, the Fair has grown into a vibrant annual gathering celebrating self-publishing, independent print culture, and creative exchange.
Each year, the Miami Zine Fair brings together 150+ artists, writers, illustrators, activists, and poets from Miami and beyond. The one-day event features a dynamic mix of zine exhibitors, performances, site-specific artworks, demonstrations, podcasts, workshops, and interactive programming—creating an environment that is energetic, inclusive, and deeply community-driven.
The Fair showcases the remarkable diversity of independent publishing practices, welcoming people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Visitors can explore immersive installations, multimedia activations, and hundreds of zines—ranging from the handmade and experimental to the meticulously crafted—produced by local and international makers. It’s a sensory-rich experience that invites the public to browse, touch, read, and discover, offering a rare opportunity to engage directly with artists and their work.
Rooted in accessibility, curiosity, and collaboration, the Miami Zine Fair continues to be a space where ideas circulate freely, new voices are amplified, and print culture comes alive.
What is a zine? (pronounced “zeen”)
A zine (short for “magazine”) is a small, self-published work created and distributed independently. Zines are often handmade or produced in small editions and may include writing, drawings, photography, collage, comics, and experimental design. Rooted in a do-it-yourself approach to publishing, zines allow artists, writers, and creators to share ideas, stories, and perspectives outside of mainstream media. They can be personal, political, playful, or poetic, and have long served as accessible tools for self-expression, community building, and cultural exchange.
