Where or When? Presented by Lost Girls Theatre

Liv and Will are living the “happily ever after.” Or so they thought until they met Tess. Once the time agents showed up…well, there’s “it’s complicated...” and “it’s… complicated…” 2022. An archivist is cataloguing the effects of an estate dating back to the Gilded Age. As he delves into the family history, he finds himself drawn to a young woman in 1937 who reminds him of his partner. 1937. A young socialite living at the estate finds herself drawn to the world of the racy nightclub, La Paloma. There, she falls in love with a woman seemingly from another time, a more progressive time. The more they each learn about one another, the more the time periods collide until they begin to step back and forth into one another’s times and places. That’s when agents from the far future step in…to straighten things out? Or eliminate the paradox entirely? Some things that happened for the first time seem to be happening again. But who will end up with whom? And where or when? Join Lost Girls Theatre and the Incomparable Radio Theatre as we bring you a live radio play with time travel, romance, and Miami's forgotten LGBTQ history.

When:Thurs & Fri. Sept 16 & 17 @ 8 PM Sun. Revolutions Per Minute: A Night of One Acts Presented by Art ON / MAS Rep

Art On in conjunction with MAS Rep presents RPM: A Night of One Acts. Written by Miami native playwright Ozzie Quintana, the plays follow two stories of machismo and feminism spurring from both Cuban and Miami history. Almost a hundred years apart in time, but timeless in their content. Of Kings, which first premiered in 2018, throws you into the high risk street racing scene of the 1990s told through the local ones of characters that are all too familiar. A Woman in Battle, the second one act and Quintana's most recent play, defines the different interpretations of freedom using the stories of three woman in a Havana prison during the first Cuban Revolution of 1868. These shows beautifully visualize the Cuban culture and its prominence. Both winners of multiple awards at the Thespians One Acts Festival including Best Original Work. RPM: A Night of One Acts is showing from July 21-24th in the MAS Black Box at Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer. Tickets are $20 with evening shows starting at 8:00 PM and Sunday shows at 1:00 PM. Winner of the 2004 Tony Awards “Triple Crown” (Best Musical, Book, and Score), the show has been praised for its approach to ADULT themes of racism, homosexuality, internet pornography – several hot-button issues from a hilarious, R-rated “Sesame Street” perspective. Papá Cuatro Presented by Miami New Drama

An epic musical journey and cultural celebration. Papá Cuatro is a world-premiere musical that tells an extraordinary immigrant tale of a generation of Venezuelan musicians who were forced to leave their country in hopes of a better future, taking with them centuries of traditions and the joyous sound of an iconic Latin American string instrument: El Cuatro. Immerse yourself in this epic journey and cultural celebration with these world-class international artists that have come to start anew and share their real-life stories with you in a setting that exists somewhere between a musical, a documentary, and a house party. Conceived by Venezuelan-Canadian director Juan Souki (Miami New Drama’s Viva la Parranda), and with original music by singer-songwriter, Mariaca Semprún (Piaf, La Lupe, Latin Grammy 2020); cuatro player, Miguel Siso (Latin Grammy 2018); harpist, Eduardo Betancourt (Latin Grammy 2010); bandola player, Mafer Bandola (LADAMA); and drummer, Adolfo Herrera.

Fade Presented by GableStage

A witty dramatic comedy about class, integrity, and culture. Lucia is understandably nervous. It’s day one at her first TV writing job. As a Hispanic novelist, she may actually be the “diversity hire” she’s heard whispers about. Uncertain whether she can make a place for herself in cutthroat Hollywood, she feels less alone when she meets Abel, the Latino janitor. They form a bond and share stories, but it turns out that their friendship is not what Abel expects.

Rubenology Presented by GableStage

The legendary Ruben Rabasa (who Andy Garcia called "La Gloria de Cuba") takes the wheel of his own one person show to tell us about the wild ride of his life - all 83 years of it and counting. Rabasa takes us from Cuba to the United States; from santeros to his saving grace, his mom. It's funny and silly and full of heart, just like Rabasa himself, who has a thing or two to teach us - his Rubenology - about being an actor, a lover, a friend, a son, a Cuban-American and an American. A WORLD PREMIERE!
