Rhythm Foundation and Tigre Sounds kick off a Global Sounds Concert Series for citizens of the world with this debut by the Cuban singer, flautist and percussionist Yaite Ramos Rodriguez, aka La Dame Blanche.
La Dame Blanche grew up amid family gatherings of extraordinary musicians, and the cream of Cuban music. Her father, the trombonist Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos, was the artistic director of the legendary Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club. Following her heart, she decamped to Paris, and immersed herself in the City of Light’s melting-pot. She joined the all-girl salsa band Rumbana, and the Grand Orchestre du Splendid, became a back-up singer with Sergent Garcia and live singer for El Hijo de la Cumbia. These experiences helped give birth to her musical alter-ego, finding her unique voice in a sonic jungle that fuses AfroCuban rumba, hip hop, reggae,and jazz. This concert will be her Miami debut.
